Having lived and worked in this area of Kent for 10 years it is clear to me that jobs are needed and wanted in east Kent. The once in a lifetime opportunity of an investment such as Riveroak propose would be incalculable to Thanet. The many jobs reopening Manston would bring would be fantastic with further opportunity to redevelop and grow Ramsgate Harbour to take freight to Europe. If the housing development were to go through for Manston there are no jobs here so people will have to travel miles for work. It is clear that Manstons Runway can land the largest aircraft and the need for jobs outweighs the need for housing. We in east Kent want our Airport back you only have to look at the percentages 65 % of those polled want the Airport in use to bring back opportunities for work.
