I support the reopening of Manston Airport. I believe this will bring sustained employment for the people of Thanet. I also believe that as Manston Airport takes on more & more cargo & freight it will free up space at other airports for passenger flights. In time, once this has been established, I would hope Manston Airport would provide internal & some European passenger flights as well. The road and rail infrastructure is much more suited to an airport than to more residential housing. Thanet is already over populated & what is needed are jobs not just at the airport but also in the airports support network. The types of jobs created by the airport are more suited to the existing skill sets of the area and therefor creates a more aspirational future for the young people of Thanet.
