I object to this application as I am an interested party living in close proximity to the proposed airport. The airport has failed time and again and at no such time have we been subject to night flights in the past. The proposal is for a cargo hub operation which includes a minimum of one per hour of night flight landings which is something that what we have had to suffer in the past. The impact on the community will be a massive increase in noise pollution along with the reduced air quality due to the proposed amount of cargo flights. Some in the community believe it will give us many new jobs for those in the area but I would challenge this. Maybe a couple of warehouse managers and a handful of fork lift truck drivers along with some ground staff and fire service personnel. I am unsure of the amount of lorry movements that are likely on a daily basis but no doubt this too will be a strain on our poor highway infrastructure. If this airport were such a great opportunity then why has it not worked previously?
