I have lived in this holiday resort of Ramsgate for 83 years a pleasant town with a harbour that is visited by many foreign yachtsmen. If it is over flown by heavy old freight planes every few minutes day and night it will mean endless misery for visitors and residents alike, we experienced this four years ago when the airport was much less used. Nobody in our town wants the noise and pollution that has been proven by many trials and investigations to be a killer to our health and welfare . many of our local teachers are pointing out the damage that interruptions in the middle of lessons can do to a child’s progress at school and their prospects later. I am worried that at my age if I want to downsize my property could be worth 20% less, many of our aging properties in out town have fine architecture and require special care large aircraft will damage these with the vibration they cause , there will be congestion on a huge scale from the large lorries that will be using our roads 24/7 shifting cargo in and out plus a large number of fuel browser deliveries per hour. A freight terminal will bring nothing to our town but blight. There were only 140 jobs there when it shut , there are far better alternatives for the site that will bring many jobs and fine leisure facilities for our young people not bad health and blight that a freight terminal will saddle us with. A VERY CONCERNED RESIDENT !.
