- The airport is essential for much need jobs in the area. This is very much a deprived area with high unemployment. Lots of people can't afford to rent let alone buy. We need a large injection of jobs which a freight airport would bring.
- Travel from here means long journeys to Gatwick or Heathrow or Luton with no direct transport links. Travel would be easy form here. We have the basic road infrastructure, expansion would not be difficult. 3 In the event of an emergency it would make sense to have an airport with the approach over the ocean and not over crowded cities and motorways
