I am objecting to Riveroak's proposal(s) based upon :-

!. Noise Pollution from Aircraft 2. Air Pollution from Aircraft 3. The huge increase in heavy vehicle movements to and from Manston which would result in noise and low level air pollution in and around the airport and further beyond. 4. Road congestion around Manston itself but also beyond, particularly where the M2 motorway is concerned. 5. Manston is not sited for good access to any major distribution routes. 6. There is no proven need for a 'Cargo Hub' sited at Manston in Kent as there is a fully operational perfectly suited airport sited at Lydd. Lydd airport you will note is also better sited for access to the M20 motorway and Ashford International rail station. 7. Again there is also a fully operational airport sited at Southend in Essex having access to major distribution routes. 8. Stanstead is yet another fully operational airport with excellent access to all major road distribution links. 9. Therefore, with three airports, all open, all fully operational, all with access to major distribution links, all who would welcome more freight business the argument for Manston fails. 10. There are areas adjacent to Manston which are of SSS status which would be compromised by re-opening the airport as a 'Cargo Hub'. 11. All previous attempts at commercial operations at Manston have failed. 12. KCC have submitted there own detailed report on re-opening Manston which outlines many excellent reasons for it not to be considered for re-opening. And therefore, be re-developed in other more environmentally friendly manners.
