I am a regular visitor to Ramsgate, staying there several times a year.

I stay in a flat on the flight path. The whole house used to shake when planes went overhead. They come in very low over Ramsgate more or less over the harbour area. You could easily see their undercarriages. The noise was very loud. Flights so low over Ramsgate will negatively affect the amenity of the area both for residents and visitors to the area. Ramsgate has seen a great improvement for visitors, especially around the harbour area. There is a cafe style culture now that will be negatively affected by flights.

The viability of the airport will eventually depend on numbers so that pressure will increase to sacrifice the amenity of Ramsgate to the needs of the airport. The viability of the airport is doubtful and that will put pressure on the number of flights before they eventually go bust. It is absurd to push this airport issue all over again.

Manston can be a an amenity for the local area in terms of housing and attractions
