I am writing in support for the reinstatement of manston airport.it seems to me that it is in the best interests of the people of thanet to have the airport up and running again.it will mean jobs for local people and will bring trade into this area.i also believe it is in the nation's interest to make sure that this airport is not built over as it is important to retain manstons airfield which was extended by the government to enable usa jet plane's to take off.it was als o used for a emergency services, RAF fire service apart from the historic use during the war.i believe that there are many other ways of making this airport important,such as a passenger service, whilst I was in the RAF i flew several times with SilverCity to and from my station in wildenrath,a very quick journey..and i believe that there are many people who would like to see the rescue helicopter return on station.
