I have serious concerns regarding the damage to the environment of a cargo hub airport from aircraft exhaust gases and unburnt fuel pollution. I have concerns about the pollution caused by 'run off' from the runway draining into Pegwell Bay, a SSSI and the contamination of the aquifer below the Manston site, which contributes to the water supply of Thanet. I also have very serious concerns regarding the noise of take offs and landings by large cargo carrying aircraft particularly for the residents of Ramsgate which is on the flight path. Noise pollution is a cause of serious health problems. Night flights will inevitably disturb the sleep of residents. Day flights will disturb children's education as there are several schools on the flight path. There is no longer enough space for a 'safety exclusion zone' more so as planning permission has been given for a residential development at the Ramsgate end of the runway.
