Herne Bay will be as affected as the Thanet towns and villages as it is directly under the flight path. My main concerns are noise particularly at night, air quality both from aircraft and increased road traffic, increased congestion.

The noise levels when the airport was in operation previously were bad enough and that was only a fraction of what is proposed. These were daytime flights so night flights will be unbearable. I work as an optician and when flights were overhead, it was not possible to hear or be heard by patients and so consultations had to pause. With the number of flights proposed this will have a significantly impact on business.

The levels of pollution are of great concern. You could smell the fuel from overhead aircraft especially after takeoff. This combined with the added pollution from additional HGVs will directly reduced the air quality. My daughter has asthma and the particulate levels will be detrimental to health.

The road network has not been designed to cope with the proposed level of traffic.
