My family has lived in Ramsgate for 25 years, previously having lived in Wandsworth where airplanes flew over our house on the way to Heathrow. The first plane would fly over at 4 am and during the day a plane would fly over every few minutes which was not a pleasant experience. We were happy to move away from Wandsworth and the airplane nuisance.

When my son (now 34) was growing up and attending a local school in Ramsgate I personally experienced planes flying over the centre of Ramsgate at unnerving low levels so as to always make me look upwards and think - that plane is very low and it's a great shame the population of Ramsgate has to suffer this noise and pollution, and that was during the day.

In addition to flying over the town centre planes would fly into Manston over my back garden in Ramsgate again at low level as we are only a short distance from the runway.

I feel very strongly that a 24/7 cargo hub airport would be a terrible nuisance in terms of noise and pollution and affect the shaky economy of Ramsgate which relies a lot on tourism and foreign language students - it would be easy for them to move to other seaside resorts, such as Deal or Hastings.

Children attending local schools would have their sleep interrupted which would be disastrous for their scholastic achievements.
