I really do believe we need an airport in Kent. It will provide much needed employment for the local area ( Thanet is a poor area and needs the money spent here). The previous flights by KLM were successful and were forced to quit Manston by the money grabbing owners. There Is a good road infrastructure in place and a disused railway line nearby that could easily be restored to join with Manston. Once back up and running, it can also be used as an emergency runway should it be needed as the runway itself it one of the longest in the UK as Concorde used to land here. It has been such a waste to have been lying empty for so long when it was once the I thriving. I remember when the Virgin planes with trainee pilots were regulars as I lived in Ramsgate then. It was lovely to see them fly over whilst putting out the washing. It makes nothing but sense to reopen it back up. Why try to build another runway at Heathrow when there is a perfectly good one sat being unused in an area that is not over populated with housing. Please can you consider opening up the airport again as East Kent needs the employment and the bus8ness opportunities that it will bring.
