I believe Manston should re-open as an airport because:
1: An active airport would provide much needed local employment opportunities. 2: It would attract specialist businesses to the area, such as catering, maintenance, fuel supplies etc. 3: It would provide local, easily accessible foreign and domestic air travel. 4: It could hugely ease the freight/flight slots on both Gatwick and Heathrow airports. 5: I believe that proper consideration and utilisation of Manston could negate the need for alternative runways at other airports. 6: With comparatively minor additions to road and rail links, Manston would be a viable third London airport. With the length of runway at Manston, there would be access to a valuable emergency runway. 7: Manston would be a valuable base for Air/Sea rescue, Air Ambulance, and Police helicopter services.
