- Area of Thanet desperately needs significant inward investment - this opportunity with RSP provides that.
- Area desperately needs long-term professional jobs - giving the local community something to aspire to be.
- With a successful airport, the knock-on effect to the wider community would be quite something = win:win for all concerned.
- The setting of Manston Airport, in Ramsgate, Kent, provides the closest gateway from the UK to Europe and the Far East, with its full potential never realised to date.
- Gatwick and Heathrow Airport's freight services are full to capacity. A re-opened Manston (with a runway waiting) would therefore provide instant relief, allowing all airports to flourish to their full potential.
- Brexit is not far around the corner; meaning the UK can trade more freely with the rest of the world. To make this a sustainable proposition, an increase in air capacity Nationally (not a decrease - as is currently occurring) will be required.
- Manston Airport is a Nationally Significant Asset and should be treated as such.
