I have three major personal concerns that impact on my ability to live and work in the area:

The lack of accommodation in the plans for the pace of change through innovation in technologies, purchaser behaviour and the circular economy. The speed of this change is likely to render the plans for this type of air and road borne logistics unnecessary within the timescale of the proposed plans. I work in the sector of innovation management in London and I am disappointed that the plans are so lacking in this important business sustainability concern.

The lack of consideration for the emerging creative sector in Ramsgate and environs, that is bringing new technologies, new opportunities and new aspirations to the area. This sector is proven to bring new wealth, new facilities and new networks to the area's youth in other areas of regeneration in the UK. In Ramsgate there are new recording studios and new creative fabrication facilities that will support the development of the London Mayor's corridor of creativity, that has been published as extending into this area. The proposed changes to noise levels, air quality and land vibrations is likely to impact these facilities in ways that will severely restrict the creative capacity building, anticipated by these conflicting 10 year plans. This conflict of policies will wipe out the building return on government funding investment in the sector in the region. I am an artist and an educationalist and have been working to build this sector in the area for the last 15 years - the plans do not consider the impact on this important UK growth sector.

I am a grandmother of eight grandchildren, who has moved to the area, attracted by the complexity of the natural and man-made environments of Thanet, which I have been enjoying sharing with my family on their visits. The proposal lacks consideration for the impact on this precious environment and the health and wellbeing of the residents and visitors. This development prevent me from being able to offer family visits to the area and will encourage me to reconsider whether this is a suitable area for me to remain living myself.

With the lack of foresight of innovation, the reduction of cultural and creative opportunities as well as significant changes to the environment, I urge that this is a short sighted proposal that is inappropriate. It reduces the capacity of the area to regenerate in more sustainable and creatively ways, that will continue to bring a different form of wealth and return on investment that is more considered, more appropriate and more aspirational.
