I would like to raise a question with the inspector regarding the validity of information contained in the Azimuth report, volume 1-4, document TR020002/APP/7.4, which is used to underpin a variety of assumptions supporting the viability of RSP’s DCO submission for the development of Manston Airport into a cargo hub. The Azimuth report was contrary in its conclusions to a number of other expert aviation reports produced by noted independent aviation experts Falcon Consultancy, Avia Solutions, York Aviation and Altitude Aviation Advisory, three of which directly challenged the Azimuth report’s findings, with all disagreeing that Manston was viable as a dedicated freighter cargo airport. In particular, York Aviation stated that the Azimuth report, which RSP has based their DCO on, has misrepresented their data and findings, which York Aviation has subsequently challenged the use of. I therefore strongly object to the granting of a Development Consent Order on the grounds that RSP has failed to provide evidence that shows Manston Airport is a nationally significant infrastructure project, as required by the DCO process Planning Act 2008.
