The Airport will support thousands of new jobs created not only from the airport but surrounding business that intergrate and support aviation. Certain areas in Thanet are rated 4th highest in deprivation in the country and this includes highest in regards to child poverty. The airport would create jobs and those jobs would bring the many out of poverty and which can focus particularly on 18 to 24 year olds where there simply isn’t employment for them. Thanet will not cope with just more housing being added. In general the waiting list for social housing is because of local poor housing stock and which means there is more need for council housing with social rents but we do not require huge sites being put aside for housing just for the sake of adding houses to it. We need the airport to provide the area with growth in jobs and a service that will eventually be passenger flights which will draw further inward investment to the area.
