The proposed opening of Manston Airport is a disaster for Thanet.The previous owners were not permitted to undertake night flights as the terrible noise of low flying aircraft would disturb residents sleep. The significant noise would be a risk to health and a huge drop in our quality of life. Other huge drawbacks would be the pollution and environmental damage , not only from the day/night flights but also from ALL THE LORRIES THAT WILL BE TRANSPORTING GOODS TO AND FROM MANSTON AIRPORT. THE FLIGHT PATH WILL BE IN DIRECT LINE OF SEVERAL SCHOOLS WHICH WILL HARM OUR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION - THE PLANES ARE VERY LOW OVER THE SCHOOLS CAUSING DISRUPTION DUE TO NOISE LEVELS. TOURISTS WILL NO LONGER VISIT THIS AREA BECAUSE OF THE NOISE DAY AND NIGHT. THE NUMBER OF PROPOSED FLIGHTS IS HORRENDOUS.
IF MANSTON IS TURNED INTO A CARGO HUB THE QUALITY OF OUR LIFE WILL BE IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGED.
