I wish to lodge an objection to Manston Airport being turned into a freight airport with an excessive number of flights. This would have a detrimental effect on the quality of life for those in the town and areas nearby. Noise, pollution, damage to buildings. Damage to health both physical and mental, not to mention to animals too.
Further, the airport is unlikely to add much in the way of employment to this already job-deprived area. We are just in the process of rebuilding our town and encouraging tourists into the area. Turning our town into a cargo hub will result in people deserting it in droves. No one wants to visit a dirty, smelly, noisy area. The local populace deserve a good quality of life and noisy, dangerous cargo planes night and day is most definitely not the way forward.
