The chance to reopen Manston airport would be a great chance to revitalise the entire southeast corner of Kent. Currently the nearest “proper” airports are Gatwick and Stanstead. Just the removal of freight traffic from the southern airports would be beneficial. Charter traffic could just as easily be introduced, the road links are already in place and with some thought to rail a link from the Minster spur (or possibly a proper trunk road to the spur) would introduce another option for access to the the airport. There is great optimism and support for the airport to be reopened and utilised to its potential. Please don’t let this Great opportunity pass the Extreme southeast of the UK by.
