Dear Sir/Madam, My husband and I have lived in Broadstairs for the past 29 years. We fully support the reopening of Manston Airport for cargo transport and future passenger flights. It should never have been sold without an undertaking by the purchaser to either keep the airport running or to sell on to someone that would continue to keep the airport running.

Manson Airport is vitally important to the Kent area and also to the whole of the country. Gatwick and Heathrow are operating at maximum capacity with no short-term chance of increasing that capacity. Manston could be up and running very quickly. The reopening would bring a huge number of jobs to the area, not just at the airport but other related industries/services/training, etc. The Air Ambulance could be returned to Manston as it should be. Air transport is increasing all the time and Manston is ready and able to play a huge part in the future of our country. It will bring prosperity and jobs to our deprived area with higher than average unemployment. It has shocked us over the years that it could ever be considered for housing development. Manston Airport has served the country well in the past and can do so again in the future. Please do not allow this vitally important asset to be lost forever. Riveroak should be allowed to reopen the airport asap. We have four adult children. Our youngest son has been unemployed for 2 years. The reopening of the airport will bring job opportunities for him and all the other long term unemployed in the area.

Thank you for considering these views which are the views of the majority of people both in the Thanet area and the whole country.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs. M. Munnich
