My wife and I live on High Street, St Lawrence, Ramsgate. We have lived in this house for 14 years and the house was built approximately 150 years ago, long before aviation was even thought about. We have experienced the disruption that night flights mean as our house is directly under the flight path of arriving and departing flights. A couple of years ago we felt our house shake as a large 4 engine cargo plane took off at approximately midnight, these flights are very low as they go over our house. The disruption that these potential flights will have on our health and well being cannot be emphasised enough, the loss of sleep is extremely worrying, however the pollution is also worrying. Our road already has high levels of exhaust pollution from traffic and is being monitored, this can only be exacerbated by aircraft. I have no objections in principle to daytime flights within reason but the threat of many numbers of night flights fills us with dread. Even though we do not have children I would imagine that the disruption to childrens sleep will be extremely detrimental to their lives and ability to participate productively in their education.
