Mansion Airfield/Airport has existed for over 70 years in various formats. The Airport is far to valuable an asset to be lost for ever as a strategic aviation centre. The current owners & proposed developers of Sunnhill Park have only profit in mind. They took over the old Pfizer site in Sandwich and made it into an Enterprise Zone, many small firms relocated to this site to take advantage of tax breaks/incentives, but very very few NEW jobs were created
With the loss of several thousand well paid jobs when Pfizers moved the bulk of their U.K. Operation overseas, this area is dire need of more skilled well paid jobs which the proposed airport would provide.
If 2500 Houses are built on this site plus small industrial units this areas current very poor infrastructure will not cope. The 2500 houses will mean at least 6000 more cars locally. Roads,Schools, Doctors, QEQM Hospital with 10000 more residents will not be able to cope.
Please think of both the Local & the National impact if this Aviation asset is lost to the Nation especially with ever increasing Air Travel/Freight.
