I am opposed to this application to re-open Manston Airport.
The people of Thanet do not need the noise and pollution living under an airport flight path. I do not want my children exposed to this and we should be limiting air travel, especially air freight, not encouraging it. The use of Sea and rail should be encouraged over flying, which adds significantly adds to climate change.
Ramsgate is directly under the flight path, in recent years the harbour has been regenerated and is busy with tourist in the summer. This trade and the enjoyment of the harbour will be badly damaged with planes taking on and landing many times a day.
I also do not see how this project is ‘nationally significant’, especially as all former attempts to run the airport commercially have failed and there are many other option for freight other than air and manston
