• Stone Hill Parks proposed new settlement will not only answer Thanet’s growing housing needs, but deliver thousands of jobs and put Manston on the map as a regional sports and leisure destination. From a new country park to an improved aviation heritage component, the proposals will open a successful new chapter for Manston and a prosperous one for Thanet.

• Since the airports demise in May 2014 there has been several attempts to find a suitable partner to continue operations as an airport, however noting the successive failure of the airports operations and the commissioning of an aviation specialist to look at the financial viability of the site, it was concluded that the operations at Manston were not financially viable.

• TDC have identified in their Strategic Housing Market Assessment a growing need for housing supply and as such this site should be designated for this purpose.

• A number of resident groups have been established voicing their views against the need to keep this site as an active airport.

• Residents are concerned over the significant noise and pollution the proposals will bring as well as the loss of jobs and tourism if we deviate away from the proposed masterplan for the site.
