I want Manston to return to being used as an airport. The ongoing planned improvements will bring much needed long term work into the area providing a future for any resident in the proposed areas for new builds. I strongly oppose the demise of the airport and any plans which include building possibly 1000s of homes thus turning it into a huge housing estate which is most likely to be used not for housing our own Thanet constituents but to support London’s need to find alternative homes whilst they carry out their own social cleansing agenda. I have lived in Cliffsend for 10 years and have never been affected by the noise of aircraft - even when being used on a regular basis for flights to Spain, Jersey and other destinations on a regular basis. The opinion that keeping the airport is detrimental to health is short sighted and does not consider the long term effects building more houses on such a large scale will have in an area where the infrastructure is already struggling to cope. Bring back the airport. Create much needed long term jobs create a prosperous Thanet not a poorer one .
