• I believe Stone Hill Park’s plans for developing 3,700 homes would be detrimental to the local area, and in the long term would not be beneficial to the local economy. • Reopening Manston airport offers the best opportunity for revitalising the local economy in the long term. • Scaremongering around noise and environmental pollution is always a key argument raised by those who have mainly never experienced living close to a busy airport. • Having lived in the flight path of Manston since 1997, as well as having lived 3 miles from Heathrow I agree there is an environmental impact. But this needs to be fairly weighed against other environment impacts, with the advantages and disadvantaged they have on the local people. • Thanet was once an island and, in many ways, still is with a 180-degree sea boarder, with little opportunity for expansion. It does though similar to Dover have good road links, which do not hinder them when it comes to freight distribution to the rest of the UK.
