I moved to Ramsgate with my wife some eleven years ago. We came from the Medway area because of the peace of this seaside town.
The plans to have a 24/7 transport hub here will destroy that peace both during the day and more importantly during the night. This is an unreasonable burden to place on this town.
ramsgate like many seaside towns lost its clientelle to cheap Spanish holidays in the late fifties and sixties. After all this time Ramsgate is now starting to rebuild this holiday trade based on the quality of its restaurants and art galleries. These people come to Thanet largely as a result of previous governments investments in the Turner Gallery. Visitors go there then explore further around the coast and stop here because of the restaurants and our fabulous harbour. A 24/7 transport hub's noise would ruin the positive effects of those government's efforts.
Please decide against this proposal, both for the health of the residents and the improving health of the economy.
