  1. It appears to be unwise to scrap Manston Airport as it appears to be the seventh longest runway in England or eleventh in Gt Britain with little chance of finding a similar site in the south of England. It is fort ft or 2.948 miles in length. For an emergency, the next long ones are Heathrow/Gatwick/Stanstead already busy.
  2. I understand our drinking water on the isle of Thanet is close to airfield for pumping and catchment area for rainfall, 200 houses or so, on this land must cover where water is collected apart more strain on limited supplies in a very dry part of our country.

I agree with River Oak.

  1. Limited number of airport runways in the country to take large jets in trouble in a crowded space.

  2. Limited unpolluted ground of catchment of rain already on an Island.
