Having been born in Ramsgate and lived in Manston for 50 years, I have seen the area deteriorate because of lack of investiture and jobs. It is imperative that such an asset as Manston Airport should not be taken out of aviation and developed for housing. The River Oak company have progressive ideas for the development of a cargo airport initially and also a training facility for aircraft engineering. It is well known that every aircraft that lands requires 8 people to service it - we need these jobs and a company which is not just interested in short-term housing gain.
I fully support the re-instatement of Manston as an airport.
