Whilst accepting that Manston has had aircraft activity for a century, what is now proposed is a total gamechanger. In the past, as a commercial airport the flight frequency and size of aircraft was far smaller than the current proposal.

A freight hub, by its nature and accepted by the developer, requires 24 hour operation with largely old and more polluting aircraft which again, accepted by the developers, would have a detrimental impact on local residents.

This area has limited road capacity and as all freight in and out will have to be carried by road an unacceptable burden will be imposed. All fuel and other services will need to be road hauled increasing the load on a stressed road network.

I feel that the proposed scheme is far too ambitious for this area and will be detrimental to the environment and quality of life and have a negative impact on a part of the country that is being regenerated.

I oppose the proposal
