I am strongly in favour of the proposal to reopen Manston Airport Thanet has a high level of unemployment especially among 16-24 year olds, it is hoped that an airport will help to bring a number of quality jobs to the area. Thanet has fast rail links to Ashford and London which pass the airport boundary, together with good road links to Dover and the M25. The historic airport has a very long runway and can quickly be brought back into operation helping to relieve the congestion of air space around the existing London airports. The reopening of Manston has overwhelming support not only in Thanet but wider afield.
