I am in favour of the re-opening of Manston Airport as an airport for the following reasons:
- It has been an important airport for almost one hundred years due to its location.
- Thanet is an area of high unemployment and the jobs a thriving airport would provide is important I believe.
- The airport being located in a generally frost and fog free area is a natural candidate as a diversion airport when fog affects Gatwick or Heathrow.
- I have lived in Thanet for 48 years and haven't found aircraft noise a nuisance even when I worked in Ramsgate High Street under the flight path.
- Whilst be in favour of re-opening I am against night time flights. I don't believe it should need to operate flights during the hours of say 22.00 to 06.00.
