I am a lifelong (nearly 50years) resident of Thanet, and went to school under the flight path of us air force jets in the 80s. I have used the airport when used by EU jet, Flybe and KLM for pleasure and business travel. I work for a multinational company at its Kent facility and have seen the benefits this airport brings. I also see the improvements made to the transport infrastructure around the airfield in recent years. Aircraft noise is not new in Thanet and the London airports are at capacity. Freeing up passenger slots at Heathrow and Gatwick by moving freight to manston can only be good. Good for London passengers getting more slots, good for the freight movement, having less airport congestion and good for Thanet, bringing jobs and money and additional investment to the area.
