Opposition to RSPs application for a DCO on the old Manston site in Thanet

I have grown up in Ramsgate and hope to be gainfully employed on the back of the current owners application to our local council to build houses, industrial units, associated utilities as well as enjoy the leisure areas they have planned.

My objections to the RSPs DCO are;

  1. Our house would be affected by the proposed flight path.
  2. I have never had perfect health due to my disability. Daily life can be a painful struggle for me. Add to this the noise and pollution from an airport will be too big a risk.
  3. The RSP case is unsound with No identified UK backing. Dubious financial thread to Belize with no guaranteed backing or details of funding.
  4. The current owners are financially sound with an already excellent set up within miles of Manston evidencing their commitment to sound business planning and listening and acting on the needs of the community.
  5. [Redacted] is heavily involved in 5 Riveroak companies and has been frontline in the failure of Manston under previous different ownerships. Questionable then for the Inspectorate to allow another shot with him at the helm. How is that in the national interest of the country. Please investigate this as part of your examination.
  6. Manston is not needed and not viable as an airport. Proven by its track record and the reports that have been commissioned by four independent aviation experts
  7. It would, if successful add congestion to the A299, M2 and A2 spreading misery to commuters who already suffer in slow traffic jams
  8. 8 flights per night as indicated by RSP with planes noisier than Heathrow will allow is an unnecessary risk to health and is not required at all. There is capacity elsewhere in England if it was really needed at all.
