Manston is a National asset that would if lost be a tragedy. It could help alleviate the over crowding at the other london airports and also the m25 where many slow journies are made and overnight stays in airport hotels .Manston with the proper investment, unlike before will be very successful having much of the infrastructure in place already. It already has a very long runway that can take any planes now flying. Being slightly to the east of london it will also alleviate overcrowding in the skies over london and improve safety. The turnaround of freight would be so much quicker than other airports where the wait is long and reduce planes having to fly around waiting for a landing slot , so also better for the environment in terms of emissions. A majority of locals desperately want their airport back as has been show by regular polls indicating over 80% wanting its return. The return of the airport will bring badly needed jobs and help regenerate the thanet and the surrounding area. The jobs will be of good quality. Many businesss will benefit by having a local airport as they did before .Manston is ideally placed so so most flight time is over the sea. Aeroplanes are now much quieter unlike when the usaaf were here. The heritage of the airport needs to be preserved for future generations and the proposals seem to do that.The opening of the airport will be good for the country and the surrounding area. The people of thanet want the airport back!
