I am a resident of Ramsgate and have been for 13 years, I live under the flight path to the once known Manston Airport. In the years I have been a resident and living under the flight path we had very few aircraft using the airport and it was acceptable at the time, I remember on a wednesday we may have had 4 - 6 cargo planes flying over us then at other times during a week airlines passed over us but I could count on 2 hands the amount during one week. I am strongly against having a cargo hub open up in Manston for reasons listed:

  1. Pollution from airplane fumes. We are a nation of being aware of what pollution is doing to the climate and humans and are stamping out pollution problems, a cargo hub will cause more health problems, breathing in bad polluted air.
  2. Noise, we are in a tourist area and the noise from constant take offs and landings will disrupt sleep and general enjoyment of a sea side town. Tourist may never come back to Ramsgate. Residents here in Ramsgate will undoubtedly suffer from lack of good quality sleep.
  3. Children in the surrounding schools will suffer from constant noise disruption and outside play time because of the noise and pollution.
  4. Traffic congestion of the cargo being transported elsewhere in the country our small roads around Manston will become congested with lorries coming off the airport.
