I oppose the reopening of the air port as proposed by RiverOak Strategic Partners:
- noise pollution in open air areas - which cannot be mitigated -, which will harm residents' and tourists' well-being
- noise pollution indoors outside the company's plans for noise mitigation, will reduce concentration and increase stress levels.
- night flights; disturbed sleep has been shown to be a major contributor to a range of health issues.
- air pollution from planes as well as from significantly increased traffic (lorries etc).
- traffic implications in the whole region
- a local freight airport, which will dominate the Isle of Thanet, will deter tourists
