I object to the Manston airport application on a number of grounds as follows:

  1. The negative noise and air pollution of cargo planes on the environment, the residents who live in the flight path, tourism in Ramsgate and surrounding towns, and associated impacts from the increase in HGV traffic on local roads.
  2. Existing airports in England already have the capacity to handle current and projected air freight requirements and they are located more centrally with significantly better road transport links, specifically East Midlands, Manchester and Stansted airports
  3. The lack of credibility and experience of the applicant, RSP, in regard to running a cargo airport of the size they propose
  4. Lack of evidence to support the claim of national significance when Manston is located in the far south east corner of England with many better alternatives more centrally located with better road links.
