Noise/night flights/tourism: The applicant's measurements and proposals regarding noise levels and impact on Ramsgate residents appear to be inconsistent with independent experts and the CAA, so that the impact is vastly under-rated. A proposed number of 17,100 freight flights per year is extremely high, but is not capped and does not include any possible non-freight or daytime activity. There is no realistic intention to mitigate the severely negative impact of such noise on the 40,000 Ramsgate residents and surrounding districts. I am not in the tourism business, but am deeply concerned at the inevitable effect on our town's ability to attract and retain a healthy and successful economy should this plan succeed. Margate- well-known, now very popular and attracting inward investment and growth - may also suffer from visitor reluctance to experience overnight noise and pollution. With very low employment and some significantly low poverty and health statistics in Thanet, we cannot afford such a blow to our recovering creative and tourism industries.
