I am recording my favour towards Riveroak's plan to redevelop Mansion airport as a commercial aircraft hub. In the light of Brexit, it is obvious how much our country will need every location and opportunity to bring trade in and out of the UK. In terms of our local area, Thanet needs jobs and the airport will bring opportunities for our young people who have little reason to stay in the area. The London airports are so busy that flying from any of them can be stressful and unpleasant. Over time, the airport could develop into passenger flights which would be marvellous for people in the south east as it can take less time to drive to Manston from the M25 than to drive around it. I am completely against having houses built on such an historic site and feel this would be shameful to lose such an asset that serves the country in the past.
