I and my wife have lived in Thanet for over 50 years and during this time we have raised our son and daughter and are now blessed with two grand children.

Once again we are very concerned about the noise and pollution this new Manston proposal will bring to all of our families heath and well being.

Over this period we have seen many companies come and go and fail from Manston and we have constantly had to run the gauntlet of noise and pollution , we have also enjoyed periods of no flights which has allowed us as a family to enjoy our favourite pastime of walking and cycling our local area especially between Broadstairs and Ramsgate without the noise and pollution Manston brings.

The statement made by "R.S.P" stating that Manston is a new airport is wrong , we have seen it many times and witnessed the problems and intrusions it creates , the new proposals from "R.S.P" to reopen as a 24/7 freight hub is quite offensive to us , it will without doubt destroy our quality of life.

24/7 flights according to "R.S.P" figures could be capable of as many as 83,000 a.t.m's per annum but even if their basic case scenario is correct at 17,000 a.t.m,s per annum their proposals state this would be with NO ENFORCABLE CAPS.

If this Manston reopening goes ahead we all know that "R.S.P" will without doubt go ahead with all their proposals because the d.c.o will give them carte blanche on all their proposals without any constraints.

The proposed Manston 24/7 freight hub also introduces major traffic and safety problems for Thanet , for example all of the lorries required to deliver and remove "R.S.P" predictions of tons of freight and the tankers to bring the 1000's of tons of fuel for the aircraft and the transport required to bring all the services required to run an airport , this also raise the issue of pollution , Manston is basically in a cul-de-sac at the end of a peninsula , therefor severely congesting the main A299 road which is one of only two main artery roads in and out of Thanet the other being the A28 and being 30 miles from the M2 motorway and another 29 miles from the Dartford crossing.

When reviewing the d.c.o please consider our following points below on how it is going to affect our lives permanently:- A continuous daytime and night time flights. B noise. C pollution. D sleep and recreation deprivation. E education. F tourism. G gridlock / safety within our local transport hub.

WE ARE VEHEMENTLY OPPOSED TO MANSTON REOPENING AS AN AIRPORT

Thank you
