I utterly disagree that Manston airport should be reopened for night flights. The noise from the large cargo planes will be unbearable. The price of properties will plummet. As a T.A in a local school, I can say with conviction, it will impact on learning. Before when Manston operated, lessons had to stop when aircraft flew directly over the school, stopping focus. The question of pollution needs to be addressed too, and research needs to be done on what dangerous chemicals our children will be breathing in. As for “jobs for locals ” this ludicrous as before workers would often not be local, traveling from other parts of the country to work at the airport. Also how will the already badly pot holed and busy roads cope when the extra lorries are using them? NO! to night flights.
