I have lived in Ramsgate, 2km from the Manston runway for 10yrs and under the flight path so have experienced the effects of cargo planes 150metres above the house. Kerosene can be smelt and seen in the air, neighbours with asthmatic children moving to the coast for their health had to move as their condition worsened considerably. There are several schools under the flight path with the added pollution from the 24hr HGV and tanker deliveries everyone's health is going to be severely damaged but especially childrens. Thanet only has access from the west and the existing road network has been designed to restrict traffic and impeded HGVs so major road building would be needed and funded how? With no protection of pollutants draining into nature conservation site Pegwell Bay the rare plants and specially protected birds will be under threat. All for a newly registered American company to make money when the present owners offer housing, jobs and leisure centre and at an airport that was never given planning position and in fact only an airfield, unique in it's proximity to a large town.
