I believe that the reopening of Manston as a operational airport is in the best interests for the surrounding area, it will create badly need jobs, it will stimulate the economy of the area, it will help to bring prosperity to not just Thanet but the south east. I have been associated with Manston for many years, I have been employed by service companies, that supply the airport, none of which exsist in this area any more, so I have to commute 90 miles a day for employment. I am associated buy family history to the airport. I would be one of those affected by the flights into and out of Manston, as my house lies on the flight path. This has never proven to be a problem in the past and with aircraft design becoming more environmentally friendly I see no reason for it to become an issue in the future.

If houses where to be built on this site, there would be short term employment, but the infrastructure could not cope with hundreds if not thousands of people commuting to and from this area on a daily basis, as a commuter I know this for a fact as the M2 can barely cope now. To reopen Manston as a fully operational airport to me would be the obvious course of action. Yours Neil Dalton.
