I would like it to be noted that I strongly oppose Manston as a cargo hub. The leaflet that came through my door said in large letters "MANSTON AIRPORT FOR AVIATION AND QUALITY JOBS." It should have said " MANSTON AIRPORT FOR NOISY OLD AIRCRAFT. NIGHT FLIGHTS AND POLLUTION."
After the Royal Air force left Manston the airport was turned over to private ownership. Private ownership tried to make a success of every possible business including passenger aviation. None of these businesses have ever succeeded .
Since the closure of Manston I have been able to live without the smell of aircraft fuel and have enjoyed a good quality of life. I fear that if River Oak get the go ahead to take over Manston with their old cargo aircraft they will bring noise and pollution to Ramsgate. IT BEGGARS BELIEF THAT RIVER OAK WANT TO BE ALLOWED NIGHT FLIGHTS.
Pollution and noise will destroy Ramsgate and surrounding areas such as Minster, Westgate, Herne Bay Cliffs End etc. I am sure you can understand why I am so vehemently opposed to River Oak being allowed to ruin the environment.
