Thanet is an area badly in need of employment opportunities. This proposal would provide them at all levels. The last thing Thanet needs is a sink estate with all the related social problems. It is an area of great potential and this plan would help in reaching it.
On a national level there is a shortage of air space so it seems ridiculous to let Manston be lost. It has tremendous possibilities to provide relief to places like Heathrow and Gatwick and could be available in a much shorter time frame than expanding either of these locations. It has a long runway and good road and rail links to London and beyond. Also the majority of the local population would welcome its reopening.
In conclusion I strongly support this proposal.
