This application is flawed on numerous points. It is unrealistic in terms of actually funding and carrying out its plans; this is an airport that has failed numerous times to become a success despite previous financial investment. It’s location means it will always struggle to draw in enough travellers. I remember the airport offering flights to Manchester in the past for £5. The planes were empty and obviously the airport was operating at a loss and couldn’t be sustained, was sold on. The option of offering night flights as a Way to sustain this as an airport is completely unreasonable for local residents. I lived on the flight path in west London for many years and it was bearable. I have also lived on the flight path in Ramsgate when it was an operating airport, the noise when the planes went overhead meant that conversations literally had to stop. For a number of minutes unless you shouted at the top of your voice you would not be heard. The planes are far too low and close to the residential housing in Ramsgate.
