It would of great advantage if Manston Airport was to re-open, bringing employment to the area and boosting tourism. Opportunities for the young people of Thanet to be able to seek employment in the Aviation/Retail industry.
New companies would move to the area, bringing more employment.
It would be great to see Airshows at Manston and increase visitors to the museum as there is so much history regarding the airport.
It would take the pressure off Gatwick/Heathrow and another point is Manston has the longest run-way in Europe.
Regeneration of area - new infrastructure New businesses locating to the area to be near airport - creating jobs and training opportunities for local people A boost to tourism The airport will put Thanet on the map Maintaining a very historic airport and the longest runway in Europe Taking the pressure off other airports ie. Heathrow, Gatwick etc Local companies will benefit The airport will bring life and energy to the area, which has a major problem with lack of jobs and inspiration
