Vattenfall Wind Power Ltd (VWPL) is proposing the Thanet Extension Offshore Wind Farm, 8km off the Kent coast in the vicinity of Manston Airport. The Thanet Extension Offshore Wind Farm DCO application was accepted for examination on 23 July 2018 (PINS reference: EN010084). VWPL also operate three offshore wind farms around the Kent Coast; Kentish Flats, Kentish Flats Extension and Thanet Offshore Wind Farm.
VWPL are in discussion with the promoters of the Manston Airport DCO to agree a Statement of Common Ground on matters relating to assessment of cumulative effects and the consideration of radar systems and the interaction with VWPL's offshore wind farms in Kent (both operational and in development).
